Winter’s Not Coming

So winter’s not coming this year. I’ve officially decided that East Tennessee does not get to experience winter. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not complaining, but it’s amazing that you can go almost anywhere else that is supposed to have winter and they are. Last week in West Virginia it was 0 with a -12 wind chill while we were skiing. They also got about 6 inches of new snow the day we got there. It warmed up by the end of our trip to a heat wave of 30. It was amazing though how we drove back through Virginia on the way home with a light snow dusting and low 30’s all the way through. When we reached the Tennessee line however it felt like someone started breathing on the back of your neck. lol Just that warm uncomfortable feeling, knowing it shouldn’t be like this, but it is. So today it’s in the 70’s here and I am in summer clothes. I actually broke a sweat while doing some things outside. I had to stop just a moment and ask myself again if it really was January 8th. So there it is. I just wanted to make it official in case you haven’t been outside. Winter isn’t coming this year. So sharpen your lawn mower blades and clean off the grill, it’s time.
